BITS Pilani Dubai Innovator Ashish Bhardwaj Powers BitBot Robotics’s Smart Drone Future

Ashish Bhardwaj interest in robotics began in third grade. BITS Pilani Dubai campus provided him the chance to combine his interests in robotics, AI, and systems design into a practical product. As the company develops, founder Ashish Bhardwaj remains focused on a goal of building drones that can operate and deliver autonomously, without detailed instructions.

Ashish Bhardwaj

Ashish Bhardwaj, an engineering graduate from BITS Pilani Dubai, grew up wondering if machines could think. That early curiosity has now developed into BitBot Robotics. BitBot Robotics is a company building autonomous drones that do more than fly. They have developed what may be a significant advancement in aerial technology. They have built the world’s first fully autonomous Ground Control System (GCS). These drones can clean buildings, deliver packages, and scan construction sites. They are guided by BitBot’s own Ground Control System (GCS). And all this without requiring a person to manually operate the system. A single voice command can initiate operations. BitBot is no longer just a concept. It is a functional model and is already gaining interest in Dubai and Delhi.

The Ground Control System is BitBot’s core invention. It allows even non-experts to use drones for complex tasks. Say “Deliver this,” and the drone takes off. Need a solar panel cleaned? Say it, and it’s done. This one system handles tasks such as delivery, cleaning, or inspection. Ashish Bhardwaj says it’s about making technology more accessible, not more complicated. At Seamless Middle East 2025, BitBot drew attention from companies looking for practical automation. The potential is significant. They are working toward a future where human effort is focused on essential tasks, while machines operate independently.

BitBot Robotics is establishing its operations in major cities in the UAE and India, including Mumbai, Bengaluru, Dubai, and Delhi. These are places where tall buildings and traffic make traditional work challenging. BitBot’s drones are being developed to address those issues. Drones that can reach the 30th floor of a glass building or carry a parcel across a busy city in minutes are currently in development. With reduced water use, lower power consumption, and enhanced safety, it aims to benefit both urban environments and the environment.

The BitBot team has designed BitBot drones not only for work but also for practical purposes. High-rise cleaners no longer need to hang from ropes. Delivery workers don’t need to navigate through traffic. Fuel consumption decreases. Water usage is reduced. And work is completed more efficiently. BitBot does not aim for machines to replace people but seeks to make human tasks easier and safer. “Smart cities need smarter tools,” Founder Ashish Bhardwaj says. “And we believe our drones are the tools that cities need to grow safer and cleaner every day.”

The team at BitBot is now in talks with delivery services, construction firms, and city planners to run pilot projects. Their drones are ready for testing, and funding is being raised to grow the fleet. BitBot’s Chief Business Officer, Tarun Krishna Mahajan, sums it up best, “We aren’t just building drone tech, we’re enabling real-world automation without complexity.”

About the Founder:

Ashish Bhardwaj, the founder and CEO, has long thought that machines could be more than just tools. Machines should function as intelligent assistants. Ashish’s interest in robotics began in third grade. BITS Pilani Dubai campus provided him the chance to combine his interests in robotics, AI, and systems design into a practical product. As the company develops, founder Ashish Bhardwaj remains focused on a goal of building drones that can operate and deliver autonomously, without detailed instructions.
