The incident comes months after a 22-year-old Indian student, Sahil Kumar, who went missing a month ago was found dead this week. His family last heard from him when he was leaving the Toronto station.
“When he left the station, that is when they lost track of his whereabouts. From the preliminary reports that we have received, he was last seen at Yonge street. We cannot comprehend how he vanished from such a main area in broad daylight,” says Akshay Yadav, Sahil’s uncle.
Another 20-year-old Indian citizen and permanent resident of the United States from Chantilly, Virginia, went missing while vacationing in the Dominican Republic.
She was last seen on March 6. Konaki’s disappearance continues to be investigated by local and international agencies, including the US State Department, FBI, and Dominican National Police.
“The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) is actively assisting in the investigation of a missing college student on vacation in the Dominican Republic. Sudiksha Konanki, a 20-year-old female from Chantilly and a student at the University of Pittsburgh, was reported missing on Thursday, March 6, 2025,” according to Loudoun County Sheriff’s official statement.
