Raja Raghuvanshi Murder: Meghalaya Police Seize Pistol And Rs. 50,000

In Indore, Meghalaya police recover a pistol and Rs 50,000 belonging to Raj Kushwaha, who is believed to be the mastermind behind the hiring of contract killers in the murder case of Raja Raghuvanshi, according to SP Herbert Kharkongor.

Meghalaya police have seized a pistol and Rs. 50,000 from the accused mastermind, Raj Kushwaha, in the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case. The gun was recovered in Indore on 27 June, said Superintendent of Police Herbert Pyniaid Kharkongor. Kushwaha stands as the alleged mastermind who hired the men for the kill behind the crime.

East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police Vivek Syiem reported,  “The pistol belongs to Raja Kushwaha.”  He explained that it was recovered by the Meghalaya police team, which had been investigating in Indore for the last few days and had been busy recovering crucial evidence.

SP Kharkongor confirmed the same to reporters, “ A weapon was seized yesterday, including a gun with ammunition and Rs. 50,000, which we recovered from the vehicle. Raj and Akash disclosed a weapon in the bag, allowing us to proceed accordingly.”

The police official added that further investigation is being carried out in search of the laptop used by the accused, Sonam and whether it has been discarded or hidden away. No comments on the registration and exact location of the pistol have been disclosed by the police. 

Further interrogations of those arrested in the case have been confirmed by the police. “They claimed that the laptops had been thrown away, but we will interrogate them to discover exactly where they were disposed of or if they are still being kept somewhere, said SP Kharkongor. 

Police on Tuesday arrested the eighth accused in the case, Lokendra Singh Tomar, who is wanted for alleged destruction of evidence. Sonam had stayed in his flat while the police were trying to track her down.

Meanwhile, the eighth accused in the case, Lokendra Singh Tomar, who was arrested on Tuesday, was produced in the Gwalior Court. He has been accused of disposing of the pistol and the bag full of money in the murder case, destroying evidence, tampering with facts and misleading the probe, said Assistant District Prosecution Officer Prashant Sharma. 

The police station incharge, Rashid Khan, said, “ A three-day transit remand has been approved. After his medical test here, he will be taken to Indore, from where he will be flown to Delhi, then to Guwahati, after which he will be taken to Shillong by road,” with regards to Tomar.
