Kapil Sharma’s recently opened cafe, Kap’s Cafe, in Canada came under fire on Wednesday night. At least nine rounds of shots were fired at the cafe from a moving vehicle in Surrey, British Columbia. No injuries were reported. However, the bullets hit the cafe and neighbouring buildings.

A moving vehicle fired at least nine bullets at Kapil Sharma's recently opened cafe in Canada. Kahalistani terrorist has claimed responsibility for the attack and cited a comment made by the comedian as the cause.
Khalistani terrorist Harjeet Singh Laddi has claimed responsibility for the attack. Laddi, a most-wanted terrorist listed by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), is linked to the banned group Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), according to India Today. Laddi cited one of Kapil Sharma’s past remarks as the reason behind the attack.
The cafe had been inaugurated last weekend.
The Surrey Police have sealed off the area, CCTV footage is being scanned, and spent bullet casings have been recovered. A forensic investigation is underway.
It is still unclear whether Kapil Sharma’s restaurant, Kap’s Cafe, was the intended target or if the firing was meant as a threat directed at the comedian, according to the Indian Express.
While no injuries were reported, the attack has triggered concern among residents and the Indian diaspora in the area.
