The Group H match of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 between Pachuca and RB Salzburg was interrupted during the 52nd minute of the game due to adverse weather conditions in Cincinnati on Thursday.

The German side was leading 1-0 in the game when the referee, M. Ghorbal, sent the players back into their dressing rooms and declared the match suspended until the weather improves.

Soon after the weather did settle down as Karim Onisiwo scored a tiebreaking goal in the 76th minute to hand FC Salzburg to a 2-1 victory over CF Pachuca in a Club World Cup Group H game on Wednesday night.

Oscar Gloukh, a 21-year-old midfielder, scored in the 42nd minute for Salzburg in a game played in front of a crowd of 5,282 at TQL Stadium.

This is the second case in two days when the match has been stopped due to weather conditions. Yesterday, the match between Mamelodi Sundowns and Ulsan Hyundai started late due to a lightning threat.

Group H has four teams, and this is the second fixture after Real Madrid played out a 1-1 draw with Al-Hilal in the opener held at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens.

With a 2-0 victory, Salzburg are at the top of Group H heading into its match against Al Hilal on Sunday. Pachuca fell to the bottom ahead of its match against Spanish giants Real Madrid.
