Telugu actor Ravi Teja's father Bhupatiraju Rajagopal Raju passed away at the age of 90. As per reports, he died on Tuesday night (July 15) at Ravi Teja’s residence due to age-related ailments.
Ravi Teja's father dies
Born in the East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh, Rajagopal Raju was a pharmacist by profession. Despite his son being a star, he worked for years and lived a low-profile life. Rajagopal Raju is survived by his wife Rajya Lakshmi and two sons, including Ravi Teja. His third son, Bharath Raju, who was an actor, died in a car accident in 2017.
As per reports, the last rites will take place this afternoon.
Rajagopal's death has left his family and friends heartbroken. Fans and colleagues of Ravi Teja have offered heartfelt condolences to the actor on social media.
Chiranjeevi shared an old picture with Ravi Teja's father. It was taken when Rajagopal Raju visited the sets of his 2023 film Waltair Veerayya. Mourning the demise of Rajagopal, Chiranjeevi wrote in Telugu, which is loosely translated as: "I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Brother Ravi Teja's father. I last met him on the sets of Waltair Veerayya. He was very cheerful and spoke with great enthusiasm. In this difficult time, my heartfelt condolences to his family. I pray that his soul finds peace (sic)".
Ravi Teja and his family are yet to release a statement on Rajagopal's death.
On the work front, Ravi Teja was last seen in the 2024 film, Mr. Bachchan. He will be next seen in Mass Jathara, which is releasing in theatres on August 27.
