A prominent Danish construction company has returned its entire fleet of Tesla vehicles, citing concerns over Elon Musk’s political stances and public comments, reports said.
The move underscores growing unease among some European consumers and companies about the Tesla CEO’s increasingly vocal presence in global political discourse.
Tscherning, which had previously electrified its corporate fleet with Tesla vehicles, announced the decision in a public statement that directly linked Musk’s political activity to its choice. “At Tscherning, we not only decide how we drive – but also who we drive with,” the company said. “Not because Tesla has become a bad car, but in light of Elon Musk's political commitment and the opinions he has publicly expressed... we as a company have chosen to say ‘thank you for the ride.’”
The company emphasized that it no longer wished to be associated with the values and political direction now linked to the Tesla brand. It plans to replace its Teslas with European electric vehicle alternatives.
The move comes amid declining Tesla sales in Europe, one of the automaker's key markets. Analysts cite various reasons, including supply chain changes, the Model Y refresh, and growing discomfort among some consumers with Musk’s public behavior. Used Tesla prices have also seen a notable drop, reflecting a dip in demand.
