All-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy will reportedly not take further part in the India vs England Test series after suffering a ligament injury. A report in the Indian Express stated that the all-rounder informed the team management about discomfort on Sunday morning and scans later confirmed a series-ending injury. The news of Reddy's ouster comes right after Arshdeep Singh and Akash Deep were both ruled out due to injuries.
While Anshul Kamboj was added to the India squad as replacement, there has been no confirmation as of now as to who would replace Reddy, if at all India would try to send anyone.
Reddy, who scored a century in Australia late last year, could not do much with the bat in the two Test matches he played on the England tour. Reddy could glean just 45 runs in the four times he batted. However, he bowled well and picked up three wickets at crucial times for India in the Lord's Test.
Reddy would have most likely featured in the last two Tests as well but the injury has forced him to pull out. India have Shardul Thakur as an all-round option for Reddy. However, Thakur is a bowling all-rounder and did not have a great time in the first Test that he played on this tour.
India are currently 2-1 down in the series after a thrilling 22-run loss in the third Test at the Lord's.
