JUV 0-0 WAC (0’)

Juventus find a large pocket of space down the left flank, and Thuram plays it to Kenan Yildiz. The Turkish youngster shoots from an acute angle, but a deflection from the defender’s foot takes it past Benabid!

Correction: Wydad defender Boutouil has been awarded with an own goal.

JUV 1-0 WAC (6’)

Wydad have had just 30% of the ball in the opening quarter of the match, but Obeng had a shot from close range that was an easy save for Di Gregorio.

And out of nothing, the Italian side double their lead. It’s a sublime strike from Yildiz from just outside the box, and the goalkeeper can do absolutely nothing as it flies towards the top right corner.

JUV 2-0 WAC (16’)

Nordin Amrabat plays a sublime lofted ball from the left side to find the run of Lorch, and the South African forward takes it forward and finishes it over the head of Di Gregorio. A lifeline for Wydad!

There’s a huge cloud of smoke rising from the stadiums as flares are set, and a couple of them reach the ground. The referee pauses the game while the smoke clears.

JUV 2-1 WAC (25’)

Wydad are growing slowly into the game and have had four shots on target. Juventus still have almost three-fourths of ball possession, but have not been able to fashion any goal chances in the last 10 minutes or so.

JUV 2-1 WAC (38’)

A couple of injury stoppages in the five additional minutes after half-time, but neither side can break through. It’s half-time, and Juventus have a slight lead in the contest.

A couple of changes for Wydad AC at the start of the second half, and the next 45 minutes are underway! Can Wydad produce a comeback and cause one of the shocks of the tournament so far?

JUV 2-1 WAC (46’)

It’s raining in Philadelphia, and both sides are pushing forward for the fourth goal of the game. Wydad have defended well from balls into the box from the flanks by Juve. After a short corner, Yildiz plays it into the box, but the goalkeeper punches away.

JUV 2-1 INT (55’)

The next corner routine almost pays off for Juventus, as Cambiaso found himself on the left edge, unmarked. He shoots first time, but the shot hits the left post and bounces back. Lucky break for Wydad.

JUV 2-1 WAC (57’)

Yildiz is the man of the moment. Kolo Muani drives inside from the left flank and finds the run of Yildiz. The Turk takes it on his right foot and finishes past Benabid, finding the far corner. Juventus are all but through to the next round. Two shots on target for Juve, and they have three goals.

JUV 3-1 WAC (69’)

A double change for Wydad, as Mailula and Harkass come on for the Moroccan side in a desperate attempt to pull one back to keep their qualification hopes alive.

JUV 3-1 WAC (78’)

Nico Gonzalez had a snap shot towards the far corner, but it goes just wide for Juventus. Wydad are pushing extremely hard for their second goal, but the final ball isn’t quite there yet.

Mwalimu had a shot towards the right corner, but Di Gregorio pushes it behind for a corner. For the corner, Moufid had a bullet header towards goal, but the goalkeeper comes out on top again with a top-class reaction save.

The fourth official indicates a minimum of five minutes to be added on.

JUV 3-1 WAC (90+1’)

An incredibly clumsy challenge from Guillherme, who is all over Vlahovic, and brings the forward down in the box. The referee points to the spot! Vlahovic steps up to take the penalty, and makes no mistake, finding the bottom right corner despite Benabid guessing correctly.

JUV 4-1 WAC (90+4’)

The referee blows his whistle, and it’s full time in Philadelphia! It was a clinical performance from the Old Lady, controlling the lion’s share of the ball and scoring twice through Kenan Yildiz, and Vlahovic’s late penalty was icing on the cake!
