Ramayana First Glimpse was unveiled today, and the 3-minute video of the much-awaited epic has left audiences awestruck.

Ramayana first glimpse was unveiled on Thursday, on July 3, 2025, creating a massive buzz about the upcoming mythological saga. Starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash in key roles, Nitesh Tiwari-directed will retell the age-old epic. The 3-minute video has left everyone awestruck and it promises to be great cinematic spectacle. The mega launch took place simultaneously across nine major Indian cities.

The video shows Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva as the Creator, Protector and Destroyer and the text on the video reads: "When their creation threatened to take over the three worlds the war to end all wars began. Worshipped for 5000 years by 2.5 billion people, this is the immortal saga of Rama vs Ravana."

Towards the end of the clip, we get glimpses of Ranbir and Yash's characters. From the visuals to the BGM, everything is top-notch and provides a larger-than-life experience.

Sharing the first glimpse of Ramayana, producer Namit Malhotra, wrote on Instagram, "Ten years of Aspiration. Relentless Conviction to bring the Greatest Epic of all time to the World. An outcome through a collaboration of some of the world’s best to ensure that Ramayana is presented with the greatest amount of Reverence and Respect. Welcome to the Beginning. Let’s Celebrate the IMMORTAL story of Rama v/s Ravana. Our Truth. Our History (sic)".

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote on X that there is also another 7-minute vision showreel which is a separate video unit "that offers insight into the planning and execution of this monumental project" and it will be unveiled closer to Ramayana's theatrical release on Diwali 2026. He also shared that the filming of the first part is complete, and the shoot for the second part will commence this August.

Ramayana cast

The video also officially announced the main cast. Ramayana is led by Ranbir Kapoor who is playing Lord Rama, along with Sai Pallavi playing Sita and Yash as Ravana. Ravi Dubey plays Lakshman, while Sunny Deol is playing Hanuman.

Kajal Aggarwal as Mandodari, Rakul Preet Singh as Surpanakha and Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, are also part of the stellar cast.

Ramayana release date

It will be released in two parts: Part 1 on Diwali 2026, followed by Part 2 on Diwali 2027. However, the exact release dates are yet to be announced.

Ramayana budget

Ramayana is made on a unprecedented scale. As per a report in Hindustan Times, the film has crossed the production cost of Kalki 2898 AD (which is said to be Rs 600 crore), RRR and Adipurush (both Rs 550 crore). The budget of Ranbir Kapoor-starrer is approximately Rs 835 crore.

Ramayana has generated massive curiosity for its vision — blending India’s most revered mythology with world-class filmmaking. The monumental project has been produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios and 8 times Oscar Winning VFX Studio, DNEG, in association with Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. Music has been composed by AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer. The screenplay has been penned by Sridhar Raghavan.
