North Korea has issued a scathing rebuke of US President Donald Trump’s recently announced “Golden Dome” missile defense initiative, calling the ambitious space-based program a "very dangerous" threat to global security and a provocative step toward the militarization of outer space, Korean Central 타이산카지노 Agency reported.

In a strongly worded memorandum released by North Korea's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pyongyang accused Washington of seeking to weaponize space under the guise of missile defense. The Korean Central 타이산카지노 Agency report said that the program "threatens the strategic security of nuclear weapons states" and risks igniting a new global arms race.

"The U.S. plan for building a new missile defense system is the root cause of sparking off a global nuclear and space arms race," the memorandum stated, accusing the United States of being "hell-bent on the moves to militarize outer space."

The “Golden Dome” initiative, unveiled by Trump on May 20, aims to create a sophisticated missile shield using a global network of satellites equipped with high-tech sensors and interceptors. The system is designed to detect and neutralize incoming ballistic missiles from adversaries including North Korea, China, Iran, and Russia.

Trump, who described the $175 billion (€154 billion) program as critical to national defense, said he had chosen a final design for the system and appointed a Space Force general to oversee its development. “This is very important for the success and even survival of our country,” he said during the announcement.

North Korea has long opposed US missile defense systems, viewing them as destabilizing and a threat to the regional balance of power. The latest condemnation signals rising tensions over space and nuclear security, with Pyongyang warning that the Golden Dome could turn outer space into “a potential nuclear war field.”
