Prime Minister Narendra Modi, currently on a five-nation tour, is set to interact with the Indian community at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast in Accra, Ghana, on Thursday, July 3, 2025.
His Ghana visit includes a series of key engagements aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and celebrating the shared history between the two nations.
Modi will also visit landmarks such as the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial and Black Star Square, and is scheduled to deliver an address at the Parliament of the Republic of Ghana.
Highlighting the strategic importance of the visit, the Prime Minister stated that India and Ghana have elevated their relationship to a Comprehensive Partnership, reaffirming New Delhi’s commitment as a “co-traveller” in Ghana’s development journey.
In recognition of his global influence and contribution to strengthening India-Ghana relations, Prime Minister Modi was conferred with ‘The Officer of the Order of the Star of Ghana’, the nation’s highest civilian honour, by President John Dramani Mahama.
During his media interaction, PM Modi announced that both countries aim to double bilateral trade over the next five years. He also underscored the shared concerns of the Global South, a recurring theme throughout his tour.
Following his engagements in Ghana, the Prime Minister will travel to Trinidad and Tobago (July 3–4), Argentina, and later Namibia, where he will pay tribute to Sam Nujoma, a leading figure in Namibia’s decolonisation movement who passed away on February 8.
He is also scheduled to attend the BRICS Summit in Brazil, marking a key multilateral stop in the tour.
