Defence Minister Rajnath Singh held a high-level meeting in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday to review the security situation, with a special focus on the border areas and preparations for the annual Amarnath Yatra, which begins next month.
The briefing took place at the Northern Command headquarters in Udhampur. The Defence Minister was briefed by senior military officials, including the Chief of the Army Staff, General Upendra Dwivedi, and the Northern Army Commander, Lt Gen Pratik Sharma. Discussions covered current anti-terrorist operations and the comprehensive security arrangements being put in place for the safety of pilgrims.
Singh's security review was part of his two-day visit to the region. On Saturday morning, he also led the International Day of Yoga celebrations, performing yoga asanas alongside approximately 2,500 soldiers.
