India vs England 5th Test began Thursday, July 31 at the Oval in London with India batting first. Cricket is a game with enormous amount of numbers involved. Runs, overs, wickets, fours, sixes, maidens are just some of the most basic numbers. If one wants to expand, the list would just never end. Now in the digital age, it is easy to keep track of all of it but when cricket began, none of the technologies currently in use were there and yet all the basic numbers were recorded. It was done through scoresheets.
Former England cricketer Isa Guha on the opening day of the fifth Test shared a picture of one such scoresheet where the game is being recorded.
