After a late fightback with the ball in the slog overs restricted West Indies to a below-par total of 189/8 on a batting-friendly surface, Australia took control of the chase early. Despite a minor wobble at the halfway mark with four wickets down, the visitors never looked flustered.
Debutant Owen stole the spotlight with a sensational knock, dealing exclusively in sixes to notch up a debut half-century – becoming only the third Australian man to do so in T20Is. His 80-run unbeaten partnership with Green, who struck a 25-ball fifty, sealed the win with authority.
