WNBA: Minnesota Lynx Rip Las Vegas Aces For 14th Straight Home Win

Another home game, another win for the WNBA's top team.

Napheesa Collier scored 25 points, Courtney Williams added 23 and the Minnesota Lynx beat the Las Vegas Aces 109-78 on Friday to improve to 14-0 at home this season.

Collier shot 7 of 12 from the field and added nine rebounds, while Williams was 10 of 12 as the Lynx shot 54.4 per cent in their highest-scoring game of the year.

Bridget Carleton chipped in 14 points and Kayla McBride contributed 13 points as Minnesota (22-4) won its fourth straight game.

Las Vegas (12-13), meanwhile, lost its second game in a row after winning its previous three contests.

A'ja Wilson had 15 points and seven rebounds, while Jackie Young scored 14 for the Aces, who shot 38.0 per cent from the field.

Liberty get past Mercury for fifth straight win

Sabrina Ionescu's big second half helped propel the New York Liberty to an 89-76 victory over the Phoenix Mercury.

Ionescu scored 17 of her 29 points after half-time and Jonquel Jones added 20 points and 11 rebounds in New York's fifth straight win.

Trailing 54-49 midway through the third quarter, the Liberty reeled off an 18-5 run over the rest of the period to grab a 67-59 lead.

In the fourth, New York put the game away by scoring 10 straight points to go up 82-64 with Ionescu contributing five points during the spurt.

With the win, the second-place Liberty (17-6) took a 2 1/2-game lead over the third-place Mercury (15-9) and improved to 2-0 in the season series.

Phoenix, which lost its third straight game immediately following a three-game winning streak, was led by Alyssa Thomas' 20 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists.

Balanced Valkyries surge past Wings

A balanced scoring effort and big third quarter helped the Golden State Valkyries defeat the Dallas Wings 86-76.

After learning earlier in the day that Valkyries leading scorer Kayla Thornton would miss the rest of the season with a knee injury, five Golden State players reached double figures in scoring.

Tiffany Hays led the way with 17 points, Janelle Salaun scored 16 and Carla Leite added 14 off the bench as the Valkyries (11-12) took control with a 33-point third quarter after combining for 30 points in the first two periods.

Temi Fagbenle had 11 points and eight rebounds and Cecilia Zandalasini contributed 10 points for Golden State, which won for the first time in four games.

Paige Bueckers paced the Wings (7-18) with 17 points and six assists, while Arike Ogunbowale scored 16.

Each team made 27 of 64 shots from the field, but the Valkyries converted 23 of 25 shots from the foul line compared to 12-of-19 shooting on free throws for the Wings.
