Nitesh Tiwari's highly-anticipated film, Ramayana, is still a year and a half away from release. However, the makers are gearing up to share the first glimpse of the upcoming mythological saga. The film has been grabbing the headlines since its inception and fans have been waiting with bated breath to catch the first glimpse of Ramayana: The Introduction. It stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Raavan, who has also backed the film with Namit Malhotra.
Ramayana's first official unit will be unveiled on Thursday, July 3, across major cities in India.
Makers are planning to exclusively launch Ramayana: The Introduction's first official glimpse across 9 key cities in India, marking the beginning of a truly global and historic cinematic rollout.
These nine cities are - Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune, and Kochi.
However, there has been no confirmation if the cast of the film will be present at the event or not.
As per reports, on May 5, a 2-minute 36-minute second-long title announcement video of Ramayana was passed by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with a ‘U’ certificate. Later, on June 23, a 3-minute video was certified by the CBFC, with a ‘U’ certificate.
Ramayana cast
Apart from Ranbir, Sai Pallavi and Yash, the magnum opus also stars Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Ravi Dubey as Laxman, Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, Rakul Preet Singh as Surpanakha, and Kajal Aggarwal as Mandodari.
Indira Krishnan, Adinath Kothare, Vivek Oberoi, and Sheeba Chaddha, among others are also said to be part of the ensemble cast.
Ramayana release date
Ramayana will be released in two parts. The first part will hit the theatres on Diwali 2026, followed by the second instalment on Diwali 2027. Reports claim that the first instalment will end with the Sita Haran episode. However, it hasn't been officially confirmed.
Meanwhile, Ramayana Part 1 shoot was wrapped up late Monday night. Ranbir and Ravi were seen sharing a warm hug after the final scene was shot. They also joined the team for a cake-cutting ceremony. Director Nitesh Tiwari, who was also present, gave an emotional speech. The videos and pics from the set have gone viral on social media.
