The 10 Indian Premier League teams competing for the coveted trophy in the 2025 edition all possess varied threats. While defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders have a new captain in the form of the 36-year-old Ajinkya Rahane, last season's runners-up Sunrisers Hyderabad have stuck with Pat Cummins as their leader.
Delhi Capitals, Lucknow Super Giants, Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings are all yet to taste the ultimate success and no doubt have their eyes on the big prize. Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians, both of whom have five titles in their kitty, are entrusting last season's captains, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Hardik Pandya, to do the job for them with a potentially record-breaking sixth victory. The Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals and Shubman Gill's Gujarat Titans will aim to add to their respective franchise's solitary triumph. The ten teams battle it out from Saturday, March 22 to Sunday, May 25, hoping to delight their fans and owners with the top honours in the world's biggest T20 league. As always, a huge chunk of the eyeballs across India and abroad will be reserved for CSK's talismanic wicketkeeper-batter Mahendra Singh Dhoni, 43 now, but trains with the same intensity as his heyday.

Harshal was acquired by Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2025 mega auction and the thinking cricketer aims to make it a season to remember with a rich haul of wickets that could help him make a comeback into the Indian national team.
