Ayoub Boucheta fouls Adis Jasic in the penalty area, and after a VAR check that confirms a spot kick, Kodjo Laba steps up to convert it. Al Ain equalise in stoppage time to end the first half at 1-1.

The second half begins and Wydad AC now attacking from right to left, Al Ain from left to right. Nordin Amrabat is caught offside in the 47th minute, in the quest of an early goal in the second period.

Al Ain have another, and take the lead! Alejandro Romero is lined up by Matias Palacios and makes no mistake to score in the 50th minute. A VAR review confirms the goal, and the UAE side have gone from 0-1 down to 2-1 up.

Manchester City have zoomed into a resounding 5-1 lead against Juventus in the concurrent Group G clash, and are set to march into the knockouts with three straight wins. Topping the group will also likely help Pep Guardiola's side avoid Real Madrid in the round of 16.

After more than eight minutes of added time in the second half, the referee finally blows the whistle and Al Ain edge Wydad for a 2-1 win. It is the first and last three points of the campaign for the United Arab Emirates club, which finishes third in Group G after Manchester City (nine points) and Juventus (six).

Wydad Casablanca, on the other hand, wrap up their FIFA Club World Cup 2025 campaign winless, pegged at the bottom of the group with no points to show after three games.
