On Friday, the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, turned 67. While she celebrates the day with specially abled students in Dehradun, several political stalwarts, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, S Jaisankar and Rajnath Singh, extend their greetings on X.
President Murmu is on a three-day visit to Uttarakhand. She spent the morning in the National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities. She was moved to tears when a group of visually impaired children sang a song to wish her on her 67th birthday.
Wishing for the long life of the President, PM Modi said, “Her life and leadership continue to inspire crores of people across the country. Her unwavering commitment to public service, social justice and inclusive development is a beacon of hope and strength for everyone.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar also conveyed his greetings in a post on X, saying she is a "great inspiration" for the country.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, while wishing a birthday to the President, commented on the X post, “Her journey from grassroots to the highest constitutional post reflects the strength of India’s democracy”.
