A grueling fourth Test match was heading towards a boring end only for Ben Stokes to make it dramatic. Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar refused to agree for a draw with the England captain as they wanted centuries. England players were not too pleased but the Indian duo went on to complete their tons before finally shaking hands and agreeing to draw the fourth Test.

The series remains at 2-1 in favour of England with the final match at the Oval still to take place. India can at best now draw the series but they would take that with an inexperienced squad and a struggling fast-bowling line-up. As we move towards the final Test, the developments around the series are still taking place at a good pace. Check out the latest updates from the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy for Monday, July 28.

India earn praise

Former cricketers praised not only India's resillience but also the decision to delay the draw. "Have you heard the term double standards? They played your bowlers all day, batted you out and suddenly when they're nearing hundreds, you want to walk off? Why should they?," R Ashwin said on his YouTube channel.

Legendary Sunil Gavaskar said on Sony Sports: "I'd ask them to keep batting and keep the team on the field for the full 15 overs."

"So things don't go England's way all of sudden it's everyone else's problem. Well done to India," Brad Haddin said.

Jamie Overton joins England squad

All-rounder Jamie Overton has been added to England's 15-player squad for the final Test. Overton joins Jofra Archer, Chris Woakes, Josh Tongue, Gus Atkinson and Brydon Carse in an already-packed England fast bowling unit.

His inclusion comes after England bowled more than 140 overs in the second innings of the fourth Test which ended in a draw.

Brook's Handshake with air

As Jadeja completed his hundred, Harry Brook thought that was it and went on to shake hands with the batters for a draw. However, Jadeja and Sundar both ignored him and celebrated the ton before the latter also raised his century. The empty handshake has become a meme material on the Internet.

Stokes, Gambhir at odds

India head coach remains open to injury substitutions in Test cricket while Stokes sees no merit in this debate.

"I think it's absolutely ridiculous that there's a conversation around an injury replacement," Stokes said. "I think that there would just be too many loopholes for teams to be able to go through. You pick your 11 for a game; injuries are part of the game."

"Absolutely, I'm all for it," Gambhir said after the game. "If the umpires and the match referee sees and feels that is a major injury, I think it's very important. It's very important to have this rule where you can get a substitute, that is, if it's [the injury] very visible."
